Symposi is the design studio of graphic designer and illustrator Julie Levesque.
Julie was born an artist. From the time she could ask, art supplies were her number one request for birthday and Christmas presents. She took every high school art class available, and pursued a BA in Studio Art at University of New Hampshire. Although she ultimately settled on a concentration in ceramics, during her senior year of college she took an introduction to architecture class that inspired her to apply to graduate school. She earned her MA in Architecture at Miami University in Ohio.
Julie's graduate studies provided a rigorous design education, guiding her to apply a critical eye to all things visual. This only benefited her chosen career in graphic design, as she felt prepared to take on any design challenge, from brochures and websites to building a complicated custom pendant light for her dining room.
Since 2002, Julie has provided print and web-design services to diverse businesses and industries. Currently her clients include a dozen medical organizations in the Boston area, including foundations and hospitals. Julie also works with many small, creative businesses to help them develop a professional look. Photographers, architects, fashion designers, knit and crochet designers, and even a Venetian plaster artist—Julie particularly enjoys working with creative professionals who share her artistic outlook.
A life-long New Englander, Julie was born and raised in New Hampshire and now lives on Boston's north shore with her husband and two young sons. When she's not designing for her clients, she takes delight in snapping photos, knitting sweaters, and exploring the seaside and the city.
